Last week on the way home we stop at Magic Wings Conservatory & Gardens in South Deerfield. I am so glad we did. Hundreds of butterfies were flying around plus exotic plants in their rain forest setting.
Let know if you can identify any of the unamed butterflies.
If you are ever in the area I encourgage you to stop.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Visiting our daughter and son-in-law in CT, exploring the area I found a barn, I would like to share with you. I converted to sepia tone, cloned out wires. (I took a bunch of pictures I will be sharing with you.)
I love old barns and sheds!!!

My photo for Charlie and Greg's Challenge
The sunset pictures I posted, I knew something was lacking but was not sure what :). My mentor Flatland Photo mention the lack of subject. Yesterday another good friend Greg of
Photo Trek sent me an email and with his permission is allowing me to share as a learning tool :). I would like to thank both for their help!!!
I wanted to reply to your entry with the golf course shots, but didn't really want to go rambling in the comments section. Here's what I think...
The time of day is awesome for photography, the way the golden light plays off of your subject is just about always flattering. The light in this case brings the tree trunks out of the shadows and highlights them, drawing the viewer's attention right to them. Now for the part I didn't really want to post publicly, for me, the shots lack order. I'm not able to pick out a path where my eye needs to go. I end up scanning the entire image looking for an anchor, or a strong point of interest, and this scanning detracts from the experience.
Keep in mind that this is just my opinion, and I am sharing the critique with you because I know you, like me, are wanting to create more than just a snapshot. You have a perfect time of day picked out, and looks like a great area for photographs (from your sunsets, I got the idea of the lay of the land). These shots just leave me wanting more. However, the comments that you have gotten already, show that others are enjoying the pictures, and ultimately, that carries much more weight that my opinion.

Having a few busy days, I decided to take a little time for myself and walk the golf course close to sunset to see what I could find. I turned around noticing the sunset shinning on the trees.
Not sure about the images....I would like to hear your opinion :).

Nuthatcher Feeding on the suet
Yesteday was overcast and not a great day for taking pictures but I could not resist. I was cooking and baking, looked out the window and noticed a Woodpecker and Nuthatcher discovered the suet.

It seems the last few nights all over the country my friends and I are sharing our sunset images. Last night was another spectacular show. I am hoping tonight will also offer me the opportunity to take more images :).

Returning from a hairdresser's appointment, I notice a decent sunset. I ran into the house to grab my camera, went to the top of the road over looking the golf course, for an open view of the sunset.
I have found you have to be very quick, I did lose a little of the beauty, sunsets change so quickly.

I have a new respect for people who take pictures of birds :). It is NOT easy!!!
First of all finding the bird is a challenge. When you find the birds, they don't pose for the camera!!!! I have learned to be quicker.... zoom out to locate the birds and then zoom in closer to the bird and snap away, ASAP. I am slowly getting the hang how to go about doing this :). I am getting into bird watching....what fun...I wish I had started sooner.
I decided to feed the birds again. I used to feed the birds and stopped because of the bears (they will hibernate in the winter) and pigeons....giving it a try again. Over the weekend I bought suet feeders and next weekend adding two more polls to attach to the deck adding one more feeder and a place to hang the suet. I cannot forget a heated bird bath. The following week the pigeons will arrive and I'll have to take everything down :(.

After a good year saving, I finally bought my new lens, Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L and 2x extender. Naturally I had to run out and try taking images. There a not too many birds out there I found. Check out my new album on my site. Wildlife and Birds -- created with PhotoSite
Maybe with this lens I will have a better success rate finding Moose :).

Last weekend while on our photos shoot on the coast, I spotted two sisters were running down the a path towards the playground.
Their mom had then dressed so nicely but it didn't last long. Off came their shoes and their pretty dresses were spotted :).
I asked permission to take their pictures. She mentioned I was not the only one was asked :).
