YES, Success, My Dream Shot of A Tom Turkey

I woke later than usual, went into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, opened the blinds and saw Tom turkey, full tail feathers opened, strutting their stuff.

I ran for my camera, naturally the right lens was in place. Grab a pair of shoes and jacket over my pajamas, went out on the deck and starting shooting. I have been talking with a few people about using my extender 2 x on my 70-200 f/2.8L. One of the comments made, it works best on sunny day, not an overcast day. It sunny!!!!

Something about me taking images in my wearing pajamas, I usually end up with a winning shot :).

I promise not more turkey images, only if the babies show up!!!

The End

Okay, Betty!  Now there's the PRIZE-WINNING "TURKEY SHOOT" !!  He's as gorgeous as the "pet" one I had when I lived in the N.Georgia hills!  Hope I can find the photo to send to you!  But yours looks better with the snowy background! ttyl  -Mame-

Well I'm very happy you finally got the shot you wanted.  He is a rather proud bird.  I wonder if he knows he is being viewed all around the world right now.

You did get some really good photo opportunities with the morning light and shadows.     I can let you know my surgery went better than I could have expected, and I have been home since Saturday.    I am headed outside to walk Salty and get my exercise in, since the rain threat has passed here, and it is sunshining.    I will return to see more of the photos' that I browsed thru in your journal.   mark

Talk about a good Turkey shoot!  Nice photos.  Is it really that snowy where you live?  It's rainy and kind of cold here in Seattle but no snow on the ground....well below 1,000 or so feet that is...:) Maria
