Franklin, New Hampshire's Smoke Stack Tree Planter

The town Franklin, old factory buildings were converted into apartments.  On top of the building I spotted an old smoke stack,  I assumed is now used as a tree planter :).

I have ridden past for a few years and finally stopped to photograph.

I noticed three boys taking a break from biking and cooling off, taking a dip. The young men noticed I was taking photos and one decided to flex his muscles for the camera.

I have been under the weather with a winter cold, I am missing getting out and shooting. Before my cold I photographed one of my favorite local areas, Chance Pond Road.

Bob, my husband's co-worker wanted to purchase an old photo of mine to place above her fireplace in her newly built log cabin.

I improved the old photo, lighting the left side and adding more detail to the mountains in the distance. Shuttle changes but I feel improves to the photo. We had the photo printed on canvas.

New York City Skyline

A few weeks ago, we went back to our hometown for a visit with family and friends. I was determined to try and fit in photographing the New York Skyline to share with you on my journal.

We went to Weehawken,NJ, as luck would have it, it was a perfect day for shooting the skyline. Good lighting, clouds (clouds add interest to your image).

My back roads excursions, I have come across unique and decorative mail boxes and I decided what fun to start collecting images of my finds. Clever mail box ideas people come up are unbelievable.

You can find mailboxes show casing work themes, hobby related, replicas of homes, pets, animals, recycled milk cans, water pumps and flowers...etc.

 

Keeping Myself Amused During A Power Outage

A couple of nights ago, the night of the Academy Awards, I was sitting down to watch the anticipate show. Flash, dark the power went out!!!! We were having extremely heavy snow storm that took down the power lines. Our last power outage we were without power for three days, our neighboring towns were without for days and even weeks.

We lit the candles and settle in waiting for our power to return when I had an idea. "This was GREAT time to practice with my settings and flash outside." My husband thought I was nuts and tried talking me out of going outside but I was determined!!!!

I am so glad I did not listen to him, decided to go outdoors and tried taking a few images. You decide how did I do capturing the snow, beautiful snow scenery?

Winter's First Snow

I have been busy setting up a new computer, my old the hard drive was ready to give up after the good years. Any one else have Vista? I have a hard time adjusting to something new but I really like Vista. I decided to play a little with two of last year's winter photos. Do you like Black or Color?

Old Cars and Trucks Of Bodie, CA (Ghost Town)

Bodie, an old mining town at the turn of the century. A wonderful place to photograph.Scattered around the town you can find old relics, old cars and trucks.
