Chestnut Manor, Sandwich, NH

Chestnut Manor

Windmill on the property

If I ever won a lottery I would love to purchase Chestnut Manor and restore....I am so in love with my picture of the old home.  Well that is unlikely, my wish, someone who feels the same way I do will restore Chestnut Manor homestead's old beauty.

You can read the history clicking on
Sandwich Historical Society link.

Malbry Mill, Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia Series

One our favorite spots to photograph is Virginia's Malbry Mill, located on Blue Ridge Parkway.

I am told the most famous mill to be photograph, you can see why.

Remick Farm Spring Break Event Photos

Bob and I attended a spring break event at Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm opened for children to experienced hands on feeding cows, chicken, playing colonial games, sack races also learning how to play with a hoops.
Another fun and adorable experience was seeing the recently born lamb and piglets. We loved seeing how the children related to their farm experienced, their little faces lighting up went seeing and feeding the farm animals. Honestly I think we enjoyed the event more than the children.
Events are not only geared for children, check out Remick Work Shops

New Hampshire's State Flower "Lilac", Wildflower "Pink Lady Slipper"

Purple Lilac

Pink Lady Slipper

How lucky we are to live in a state where Lilacs grow. New Hampshire adopted the Purple Lilac as our state flower in 1919. Spring is the time of year when the radiant fragrance of the lilacs grace our yards. Lilacs come in white, violet, blue, lilac, pink, red, and purple, grow best in full sun.

Did you know New Hampshire has a state wildflower, Pink Lady Slipper "Cypripedium acaule" you will find growing in the acid soils of pine/oak woods.
