Pretty Scenery: Fields and Meadows (Sounds Like A Magazine)

A few weeks ago, we spent a weekend in the North Conway with friends, the same weekend we visited MT. Washington and I finally found my moose :).

Our friends live in the area and they are familiar with pretty scenic areas the tourists are not aware of. I think this location is in the town of Jackson, NH.

Comment to my readers:

I posted the below comment under the link below and wanted to be sure you see it. I have the best time blogging, taking pictures and sharing. Thank you for being so supportive!!!

Learning and Playing With Cropping
Do you know what I love the most about blogging? Your comments!!! I want to hear you opinions, suggestions, and information like Greg just posted. I found my blogging is learning process in addition to sharing my work.

When I find a subject I need to photograph my subject all different angles, focus in and out!!!

Thank you for reading my journal.

Betty

The composition of the cropped version is a bit more pleasing. The subject matter is more specific and organized. The sepia tone works well with this subject as well. One thing to keep in mind when cropping is that you are killing your resolution and therefore your ability to print crisp images of any real size. The best bet is to compose that same shot in the field and take the picture with the intention of not cropping. Your printed images will appreciate you for it.

The term "fields" doesn't do your photo the justice it deserves.  I prefer the term "meadow".  I'm convinced I need that nice long, soothing walk.... and just get lost in the expanse of it all.

Thanks Cedar ....I like your suggestion and made the change.

Beautiful, Betty. I love the way the fence leads the eye to the mountain in the background, and the sky is awesome. I can't wait to see this in the autumn. :)

I agree, the input received from the readers is invaluable, and part of the draw to having a journal.  I just love the sky in the picture posted here.  A polarizer filter would have brought the blue out in the sky and reduced the contrast in the scene a bit though.

What Greg said is sooo true, I was thinking it but never said it.  If you wanted to sell your images, you do need to keep that in mine.
This image above is wonderful.  I think I would have walk up a few feet & took out the  metal gate & worked with the fence, leading you back into the beautiful background.
In here you see the gate but the fence gets lost.....but that's me, I am not necessarily correct...Ü  Everyone looks at scenes & images differently.  We need to learn to trust our own instincts.

I can say (and I hope I often do) that I never leave this journal without seeing something fantastic. Anyone can see something and take a good picture, but I believe only an artist can take the ordinary and produce something special. I love your work.

Hi Betty!  Beautiful shot, as always.  I can't wait to get back home up north (western Massachusetts' Berkshire Hills) and get pics like that ... not to mention taking a wonderful "fresh air" walk !!  I'm melting here in Florida !!      -Mame-
