Early Morning Scenic Shots, Steel Hill Resort, Sanborton, NH

Another stop my photo group visited was Steel Hill Resorts located in Sanborton.  A beautiful resort and showcasing a beautiful view.

I was fortunate to capture two photos of the sun rays peering through the clouds and fall foliage over looking Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Winnisquam and White Mountains.

New Hampshire First Snow in October, Add Your Caption To The Photo

Snow is not unusual in October.  What I found interesting, viewing my photo, you can see we still have leaves waiting to fall, a pumpkin waiting for trick and treaters.

I believe my photo of the pumpkin looking out at the first snow is waiting for your suggested caption.

Fall Photos, Lily's Pond, Kancamagus Highway

One of my favorite pullovers on the Kancamagus Highway is Lily's Pond.  I hope someday I will spot a moose feeding in the pond area.

If you love Fall, I suggest you come to visit New Hampshire.

Discovered a Small Grove of Tamarack Conifer Trees

My previous post MyDayMyInterestsPhotoblog: Have You Ever Heard Of Tamarack Trees? http://mydaymyinterestsphotoblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/have-you-ever-heard-of-tamarack-trees.html I explained how my friend Brad educated me about the Tamarack trees.

On the way to Concord two days ago, I found a small grove of the Tamarack trees, scenic looking shots but as luck will have it no camera in hand. I returned yesterday, the same time day for the great lighting I viewed the day before of the grove.

Have You Ever Heard Of Tamarack Trees?

A friend of mine Brad located Tamarack Trees not to far from where I live. Tamarack trees are also know as Western Larch. In the fall the trees turn a golden yellow and are the only conifer to drop their needles. You will find growing ponds and bog areas.

Another friend mentioned Tamarack Trees was used by our native Americans for making canoes, tepee poles and was used to treat for medicinal use.

After Brad mentioned his finding, I decided to go searching for the trees. I realized had I seen the golden trees, I thought they were dying and would never had photographed, I am very glad Brad educated me. I enjoyed the fun of learning and finding beautiful Tamarack Trees in their golden fall tones.

Fall, Late Afternoon Walk On The Golf Course

Late afternoon I decide to take a hike on the golf course, was out there for about hour or more. This was first time I walked to the new section (increased the course to 18 holes)...it was beautiful, 32 degrees, no wind and sun starting to set. I found a pond and a few steams and a turkey feather.

Interesting Find Today: 400 Year Oak Tree

I was out today looking to showcase after fall peak, still beautiful in NH. Bob noticed a beautiful old tree, we had to turned around allowing me to take pictures and I am so glad we did. Perley Pond Conservation Area is located in Laconia, NH.
Thankfully they had a sign with the history and information of the 400 year old oak tree. The circumference is 10 feet. Age 400 years old.

My Only Fall Images OF NH 2008 Season

We were on vacation at the peak of our fall foliage and returned just as peak was ended. We decided to go apple picking at Surowiec Farm, Sanbornton, NH. Surowiec has spectacular views allowing to take my fall foliage image of the 2008 and few others.
