This image explains why the parkway is called "Blue Ridge Parkway."
Blue Ridge Parkway is know for it's beauty. You will find, old barns, spectacular scenic views, rolling hills, old farmsteads, camp sites, trails and historic structures.
Welcome to the Blue Ridge Parkway "It was the nation's first, and ultimately longest, rural parkway, connecting Shenandoah National Park in Virginia with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina."
