One of the highlights of my recent vacation was visiting Lee Vining, Mono Lake, CA. The view, and lighting was specula, we took sunrise and sunset images. I was one of many photographers visiting the area.

Our Meetup: New England Photo Expeditions, first stop, last weekend was Newburyport, Massachusetts. Newburyport has a scenic waterfront, old architecture homes and buildings restored. The town offers culture, fine art, antiques shops and a shopping paradise. You can also take a self guided walking tour.
We enjoyed a leisurely, delicious lunch before heading out to Plum Island. Norman our host for the day did a wonderful job organizing a perfect day.

Plum Island Boardwalk
My photo group, last weekend visited Plum Island's Air Show and Beach. This was my first air show, what fun taking pictures. The shore area is right over our NH border also my first time visiting the area.
On our weekend ride, we found a community garden on one of the side roads in Tamworth, NH. The community grows vegetables, flowers, sharing both in maintenance and rewards of the gardens. For me it was a photo opportunity :).

Sugar Maple at Shaker Village. I love the texture of the bark and think about the history of the old tree must have seen over the years. I wonder how many young children climbed, sat under the old tree.
Black and White
My sister and her family were visiting us last weekend. We visited Canterbury Shaker Village - Home Check the site and you will learn about the interesting histor of the Shakers.
I cannot believe we have been experiencing signs of fall. After fall comes winter and snow, I am not ready for winter YIKES!!
*Chill in the air (39 degrees one morning).
*You can see the leaves starting to change their color.
*Acorns dropping.
Another sign of fall, Sunflowers. As luck would have it I spotted a field of sunflowers, located a road that leads to the field.
Remick Farm with Mt. Chocura in the background.
Last weekend our daughter's family visited for a few days. One of the places we took our grandchildren was Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm. Children can really get into farm chores, feeding the farm animals, making butter, milking cows. Our kids made corn husk dolls, fed the chickens. (I do not share pictures of my family online sorry but I have a few scenic's.)
I still cannot believe all the different sites, scenic areas Sandy Hook offers. The area also offers terrific birding.
Fort Hancock Coastal Defences Jail....images are the last shots of my New Jersey Shore vacation :).
I could not believe the size of this Hibiscus our friend is growing in her garden.
Bob and I met CmishVicki and her husband Lou for a short visit and really nice lunch...perfect day. Vicki took us to Sandy Hook for way too short tour, I want to go back and explore the area in detail.
I have posted my pictures of Sandy Hook Lighthouse, another scenic area was Battery Potter. Located at the north end of beautiful Sandy Hook, Fort Hancock served in coastal defense until 1974. Sandy Hook, a six-mile sandbar peninsula reaching into lower New York Harbor, was a strategic site for both navigational and defense purposes.
Unfortunately we had little time to enjoy the beach our visit a few weeks ago. Next year I hope we can spend a week in the Cape May area. You can see why I love the Jersey shore, beautiful beaches.
Our friends Albie and Nadine live near Cape May, the southern tip of New Jersey. Cape May a scenic, Victorian town. This visit we did not have the time to walk the town but I managed to take a few scenic's shots.
Sandy Hook Lighthouse
Last week Bob and I visited friends and family at the Jersey Shore. It has been many years since our last visit and quickly realized how much we missed. We are originally from New Jersey, transferred to NH 15 years ago.
My next few entries I will be sharing photos of our "Jersey Shore" pictures.
