Today, very early morning, it was raining, foggy when my turkey arrived for breakfast. I did not take any images.
Around three PM the sun just came out their timing again was not great, almost full sun....I hate early arrivals for dinner....I feed them twice a day. My images are getting better but still not what I have in mind..I am so determined to a pictures of one with a full tail span!!!!
My pets are getting use to me, I will slowly try and go outside to take their pictures. I took about 40, only two images were worth saving, because the glare of sun on the window, snow and birds.

Determination For Decent Turkey Images
My turkey have returned. I am feeding them twice day, some days they skip.
I have been playing with my lens, cameras, settings, trying for a sharp, close, decent lighting. My dream image would a turkey with the tail feathers opened. I am not happy with my the results using my 2x extender/convertor, using my EF 70-200mm f/2.8L ...my pictures are not sharp. My friend, told me I need use my tripod and increase the speed. I am still testing my settings, while the pictures are better, not what I was hoping for.
The best part as long as they return, I am having fun playing an learning and taking their images!!!!

My Dinner Guests "Wild Turkey"
Arriving for dinner
Strutting his stuff
Check out my other images of the flock. Guess Who Came For Dinner "Wild Turkey" - a photoset on Flickr
Bob noticed the other day, a few wild turkey forging for food. We have about three foot base of snow on the ground which makes finding food difficult for the turkey to find food...we decide to start feeding them for that reason.
I sprinkled the feed on top of the snow. The turkey
(30 turkey) discovered the food, which consists of sunflower seed, nuts, cracked corn.

Mallard Couple Forging For Food
Yesterday was the first day in over 5 weeks I went shooting!!!! It felt soooooooooooo good!!!
On the way home, in Sanbornton, on Rt. 132, there was a small bridge crossing, I glance to my right and saw a beautiful site. We back up the car, I grabbed my camera, walking very carefully on the ice, crossed the street, straddled a 3 feet snow bank to position myself for a few images.
Guess what I found...mallards!!!! Brrrrrrr that water had to be COLD.

The Gratitude Campaign (For Our Service Men and Women)
The Gratitude Campaign
For the past several years as I've been traveling around the country, I've been approaching soldiers in the airports and thanking them for serving for us. On several occasions I have noticed that it felt a little awkward for both of us. There are several reasons, some of which I am even just now learning as I produce this film and talk to more soldiers. But they have always appreciated being thanked, and I have always felt better having expressed my gratitude.
I started to think that it would be nice if civilians had a gesture or sign that they could use to say "thank you" quickly and easily without even having to approach. I did some research and found the sign that we are now using.
Is this limited to the military? Not at all. If you look around you I'm sure that you'll find lots of people who are serving their communities, from local to global. If you appreciate their service, give them a sign. Say "thank you."

New Hampshire's Primary Is Tuesday and The Campaign is Ruining Our Lives <Grinning>
Nightly News called to interview me....keep in mind I am not politically motivate at all ...I will vote, period, nothing more. I did watch the debates last night and it helped me make up my mind...not voting ......kidding I have picked my candidate.
Candidates must not know when dinner time is in NH, because most of the phone calls ring at that time!! What is not fun my husband is still recuperating from surgery. So if the door bell rings I am the one who has to answer the door and their timings are all off, I am usually in the bathroom and I hear Bob YELLING "BET the door bell :(."
After my two good looking, young men (Obama's) left, the photographer in me realize I just missed a photo opportunity...I should have invited them in to take pictures. Oh they will be back ...they were here yesterday also :).
